In conjunction with the announcement of our partnership with First Connect Insurance Services, we’ve asked First Connect’s Regional Territory Manager, Alexis Ruch, to share with us why she’s excited to partner up with BCRC and why she’s so passionate about her company’s mission.
First Connect is an an Austin-based auto insurance provider with a mission to give back to the communities they serve. Their innovative program allows five local non-profits to share a portion of theirs profits; BCRC has been chosen to be one of these five recipients. As a result of this exciting new partnership, First Connect will donate 10% of their premiums to the Breast Cancer Resource Centers on behalf of each customer who takes out a policy and remains claim-free for the policy year.

The Breast Cancer Resource Centers first tugged on my heart strings back in the beginning of 2014 when I witnessed the extraordinary impact they have on thousands of women’s lives each year. In June of last year, I was fortunate to be part of the Art Bra Austin show and experienced for the first time the beautiful silent auction, followed by Austin’s most inspiring Runway show. Survivors and women currently battling breast cancer entertained hundreds of guests and strutted down the cat walk with confidence and perseverance as they modeled art bras made by local artists. Each step celebrates the courage, unification and celebration of women with breast cancer.
Now, almost seven months later from that magical night in June, I am thrilled to announce our unique partnership with BCRC, designed to provide sustainability and serve our community’s needs. First Connect is the “first” auto insurance provider – located right in your backyard – with a heart and a desire to give back to the community. We share the same values and the same social consciousness that you and your family share. Our mission is to cultivate respect for your premium dollars by contributing a 10% profit sharing check to individuals who are claims free for the policy year. As a policy holder, you’ll then be able to donate your 10% profit sharing check to the Breast Cancer Resource Center. You can donate a portion or all of your profit sharing check to BCRC. However you like, First Connect will write a donation check in your name, which may also qualify as a tax deductible charitable donation.
