Engaging in regular physical activity is an important part of living with a breast cancer diagnosis. Physical activity has been shown to provide several benefits during and after breast cancer treatment. In this video, Cresta Duin, shares the benefits of physical activity, guidelines to follow, and types of exercise that are appropriate during and after breast cancer treatment.

Cresta earned her Occupational Therapy degree from Colorado State University, a top five nationally rated OT school, in 2001 and had an early interest in lymphedema therapy through her clinicals. She received her certification in lymphedema therapy in 2005 through The Academy of Lymphatic Studies and completed a re-certification through Norton School of Lymphatic Studies in 2017. She became an Oncology Rehab Specialist in 2017 through PORI. She has been the lead lymphedema therapist at St. David’s Medical Center in Round Rock for more than ten years and honored with numerous ICARE nominations, Employee of the Month awards, and 2016 Caregiver of the Year. She has completed extensive continuing education in breast cancer rehabilitation and is very active in the oncology community. She has been a breast cancer rehabilitation guest lecturer at the University of St. Augustine in Austin and frequently gives community presentations. Her mission: Through education, rehabilitation, exercise, and emotional support we strive to empower our patients diagnosed with cancer to maintain and improve their quality of life during and following cancer treatments.
