Nutrition is important for anyone diagnosed with breast cancer, both during treatment and after. In this video, Dr. Krystle Zuniga shares helpful tips and information about which foods to nourish your body with and which to limit as you undergo treatment for breast cancer as well as after treatment is over. Not only does she share important types of food, but she explains why they are important and how your body benefits from them.

Krystle Zuniga has a PhD in Nutritional Sciences and completed her dietetic internship at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She was previously an assistant professor in Nutrition at Texas State University where she taught a variety of undergraduate and graduate nutrition courses and conducted nutrition and cancer research. She used basic, clinical, and epidemiological studies to identify the effects of nutrition, and physical activity on clinical outcomes and patient quality of life. In partnership with Cancer Rehab and Integrative Medicine, she provides educational seminars and workshops using evidence-based nutrition to help cancer survivors develop individualized nutrition care plans that meet nutrient needs, manage side effects, and promote health and recovery. Krystle enjoys sharing her passion, experience and knowledge in nutrition to help cancer patients and survivors feel empowered, using nutrition to optimize outcomes and improve quality of life.
